The CH50-87.DIA87 industrial camera housing allows to install smaller industrial cameras (27x27, 29x29, 30x30, 31x31, 40x30mm) in combination with large lenses. It is an all-aluminum rugged enclosure that can be found under various names such as camera housing or cover.
When used in industrial applications, the enclosure protects the industrial camera and lens against unwanted damage. This can be caused not only by the mechanical part of the line, but also by high temperature, dust, grease, humidity and water or exposure to chemicals.
IP69 (IP69K)
The CH50-87.DIA83 enclosure is the result of the integration of the CH50 and CH87 predecessors, which have met the requirements of IP69 certification. However, the new CH50-87.DIA83 has not yet been officially certified as a stand-alone product.
Passive cooling as secondary protection for the camera and lens
Similar to the CH50, the temperature of the camera is significantly reduced by passive cooling of the housing. You can see this effect from the temperature history when testing the CH50. The effect on the lens is particularly significant, as without the use of the cover virtually all the heat of the camera is transferred to the lens, but with the heat dissipation of the cover the lens remains slightly cooler.
Housing dimensions and camera mount
The CH50-87.DIA87 housing offers an inner diameter of 50mm for the camera in its rear section and an inner diameter of 87mm for the lens in its front section. The visor then has a diameter of 83mm, minimising the cropping of the resulting shots that smaller covers can suffer from.
The length of the cover is always chosen induvidually according to the customer's needs. When ordering, please specify your preferred size or specify the type of camera and lens, we will be happy to help you choose the optimum length.
The camera is attached to the internal mounting part with 2 screws M2 or M3 as with the CH50. These screws are only used to center the camera and lock it in place. As standard, the mount is prepared for M2 with a pitch of 18 mm. For other cameras, please specify the camera type in the order to prepare the correct 2xM3 spacing. Fixing the camera firmly inside the housing and securing it against movement even under high vibrations is realized by pressure using a special expansion piece, which is also included in the delivery.
